I bought one of these a year ago. My kids used it nearly every day all through the summer and probably 3-5 era a week even over winter time. We bought huge jugs of slushie syrup at our community hardware/party rent-a-center.
For the price, we definately got our cash’s worth, taking into account how much use we got out of it.
Unfortunately, the small tabs on the cups don’t last forever and end up breaking off. Once those tabs are gone….the machine will not work since the tabs have to be in place (safety issue).
So my only complaint is they should make the tabs more durable and also it would be nice to have a few extra cups included w/the buy of the machine.
If the tabs lasted longer then it would definately get 5 stars from me.

I bought the original slushie prompt 3 yrs ago. I reckon this is a newer model, but this thing is wonderful! Aside from slushies, we use it to make smoothies, adult frozen beverages, or to simply puree small quantities of food (like tomatoes plus a small water) for cooking. Much simpler to clean than a blender, very small, simple to operate, safe for older children to use. I did have to order new cups last summer b/c the tabs broke off the original cups, but the newer cups seems to have sturdier tabs. None of them have broken, but they do need to be hand washed. Still can’t beat the value and versatility for the price! Also works best if you start with crushed ice instead of whole cubes (we use the crushed ice from the ice maker in the fridge door).
